Field trip in Transylvania stimulates knowledge-exchange
A field trip organized by the Saxon State Office for Environment, Agriculture and Geology (LfULG) aimed at bringing together farmers and practitioners from Germany with local ones in Romania. The trip was organized as part of STACCATO’s objective to assess ecosystem services and compare agricultural practices across Europe.
During the trip participants were guided to several regions in Transylvania for four days where they received expert information on soil, vegetation, biodiversity and agricultural history. As part of this knowledge-exchange exercise the group visited three traditional Romanian farms and had the opportunity to compare agricultural management practices there with the ones deployed in Germany.
